Platform Builder forums

Dear members! I am not active with Mario Builder nor it's forums anymore although I still view some activity here sometimes. This is because of the need to choose some activities from all ones in ridiculously limited time. Good things are that I spend more time on something that has been created by the same creator as for Mario Builder. This is Platform Builder and it's own forum.

I can't open Mario Builder

I can't open Mario Builder Empty I can't open Mario Builder

Post  TehMarioFan on Thu Oct 19, 2017 8:20 am

I just downloaded Mario Builder, and I'm having lots of fun with it, but when I closed and tried to open it, a error message pops up as follows:

action number 1
of Other Event: Game Start
for object obj_game:

Error opening file for writing.

I have NO idea what that means. If I ignore the error, Mario Builder closes. My little siblings and me are trying to make our own games and we can't anymore because of this issue. Does anybody know how to fix this?

What operating system are you using? What version of Mario Builder are you using? It sounds like the problem is that Mario Builder cannot write files for some unknown reason? Are you running it off something like a CD/DVD or a locked SD card? If not, try running it in compatibility mode by right clicking the executable, and setting it to Windows XP SP3, or Windows 7. Hope this helps.
